Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply to our website and counselling services.

These terms apply to your use of the Lumina Counselling website and to the counselling services we provide. By using this website or booking a session, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

Last updated: July 2026.

About our services

Lumina Counselling provides professional counselling delivered online to clients across Australia, in English and Spanish. Counselling is a supportive, therapeutic service. It is not a medical, psychiatric, diagnostic or prescribing service, and it is not a substitute for advice from your doctor or another registered health practitioner.

Not a crisis or emergency service

Counselling is not a crisis service and our website and contact form are not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000. For 24/7 crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Who our services are for

Individual (one-to-one) counselling is currently offered to teenage boys, young men and adult men. Our other services — family counselling, youth & young adult counselling, pre-marital counselling, cross-cultural & migration counselling, and ministry & leadership support — are open to everyone. If you are a woman seeking individual support, you are welcome to contact us and we will help you find a suitable referral. Where a client is under 18, appropriate consent arrangements will be discussed before counselling begins.

Bookings and the free consultation

We offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions and see whether counselling with Lumina is the right fit, with no obligation to continue. Bookings are arranged through our secure practice-management platform or by contacting us. Session types and current fees are shown on our Fees page.

Fees, payment and cancellations

Fees are payable as set out at the time of booking and may change from time to time; current fees are always listed on our Fees page. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please give us as much notice as you can. A cancellation policy may apply and, where it does, it will be explained to you before your first session.

Confidentiality

Your sessions are confidential, subject to the limited exceptions described in our Privacy Policy — for example where there is a serious and imminent risk to safety or where disclosure is required by law.

Our faith-based approach

Lumina Counselling works from a Christian, faith-based perspective and welcomes people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Faith is offered where it is helpful to you and is never imposed.

No guarantee of outcomes

Counselling can support meaningful change, but everyone’s circumstances are different and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Any decisions you make remain your own responsibility.

Governing law
